Victoria Glacier - Lake Louise 1988 Location: Lake Louise, Banff National Park, Canada. It is located 183 kilometers west and north of Calgary. It's about a two hour trip located within Banff National Park. Fee required. Find the location: Copy the coordinates below. Open Google Earth, paste the coordinates into "Fly To" and click on the magnifying glass. 51° 24' 13.92" N Equipment: Canon F1 70-210 lens with polarizing filter. Kodachrome 64. Digital imaging/manipulation: Image scanned with Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO at 4800 dpi. Emulsion artifact removed. Notes: This was taken above Lake Louise on a trail that leads to Victoria Glacier (in the foreground). It is a moderate trail. This was in September. When we checked in it was 85°. During the latter part of the week it snowed. Like so many places in the mountains, bad weather is sometimes better for pictures. |
